DMRC recently completed tunnelling work beneath the operational Red Line at Pulbangash as part of the Magenta Line extension between Janakpuri West and RK Ashram Marg. The team carried out the activity below an elevated viaduct with open foundations, which required detailed planning and ground-strengthening. Engineers used the TAM grouting method with around 180 boreholes to stabilise the pier area, supported by continuous monitoring systems. RITES has received the CEAI National Award for Engineering Innovation and Sustainability for its work on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Line (USBRL).
