UP farmers to sell urad at assured prices as NAFED starts MSP procurement

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that NAFED will soon operationalise 50 urad procurement centres across 17 districts, allowing farmers to sell their produce at the minimum support price of INR 7,800 per quintal. The initiative is being rolled out under NAFED's Aatmanirbhar Dal Yojana, which focuses on direct procurement from farmers and removes middlemen from the process. Purchases are expected to begin shortly and will continue until January 29, 2026. Payments will be credited directly to farmers bank accounts within three working days.
