The Maharashtra government has approved redevelopment of 4,973 flats in SVP Nagar colony in Andheri West under MHADA, spread over 498 plots. MHADA will redevelop 98 housing societies built in 1993 under a World Bank scheme. Seven societies have already been fully redeveloped and three are under construction. The remaining 82 societies, housing about 2,666 families, will come under the plan.
