Adani Power has announced plans to establish a 2,400 MW ultra super-critical power plant in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur district, Bihar, with an investment of USD 3 billion (around INR 26,482 crore). The company has signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement with Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. to provide electricity from the new facility. The project, awarded under the lowest bid rate of INR 6.075 per KWh, will follow a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model. Haryana has crossed 2.1 gigawatts (GW) of solar capacity and is adding rooftop solar across homes, industries, and institutions. The state has distributed more than 1.65 lakh solar irrigation pumps under the PM-KUSUM scheme, helping farmers save costs while lowering emissions. Haryana has also built a 10 MW solar plant in Panipat, developed over 448 MW of ground-mounted projects, sanctioned 13 solar parks, and declared Panchkula as a Model Solar City. Dharan Infra-EPC announced earlier this week that it had secured solar EPC work contracts worth INR 262.10 crore from a prominent renewable energy company in India. The award comes shortly after the firm, through its wholly owned subsidiary Dharan Infra Solar, bagged EPC contracts totalling INR 1,171.21 crore from Skymax Infra Power for projects at Orvakal Industrial Park in Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh government has allotted 2,776 acres of land in Racharlapadu village of SPSR Nellore district to IFFCO Kisan SEZ Limited for setting up a Private Large Industrial Park (PLIP). The decision is part of the state's Plug and Play Industrial Infrastructure Policy 2024-29, which focuses on building private sector-driven industrial parks with ready-to-use facilities. The company has committed an investment of INR 870 crore, with the project expected to generate nearly 70,000 jobs. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced BHIM VEGA, a UPI-based payment feature, within its Sarthi app in partnership with NPCI BHIM Services Limited. The update enables passengers to register UPI IDs, link bank accounts or RuPay cards, and complete secure payments directly inside the app. Along with this feature, the app also supports booking of the Jai Hind Sound and Light Show at Red Fort, ticketing with Noida Metro and DTC through ONDC, and digital recharge of RuPay NCMC cards. With nearly seven million journeys each day and most commuters already using digital ticketing, the new feature is expected to reduce queues and encourage wider adoption.Read more

Gautam Solar has announced an investment of INR 4,000 crore to establish a 5 GW solar-cell manufacturing facility in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The plant, spread over 54 acres, will focus on advanced TOPCon solar-cell technology. Work has already started with Phase 1, which will provide 2 GW of capacity, while the second phase will add 3 GW after a planned IPO. The project is targeted for completion by calendar year 2026. Vizhinjam International Seaport has received customs clearance to operate as a gateway cargo terminal, enabling it to handle both import and export consignments. The port has implemented the Indian Customs Electronic Data Interchange System (ICES) version 1.5 for processing documentation and clearance. While this marks a significant regulatory milestone, key supporting infrastructure such as road connectivity, container yards, freight stations and warehouses are yet to be completed.
