Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has announced the creation of seven new municipalities and 16 Notified Area Councils (NACs) to strengthen urban governance and infrastructure. Former NACs including Karanjia, Boudh, Bhanjanagar, Aska, Chhatrapur, Kabisuryanagar, and Polasara have been upgraded to municipalities, while new NACs have been formed in districts such as Balangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Koraput, Jajpur, Khurda, and Mayurbhanj.
