The Greater Bengaluru Authority has resolved the e-khata process for most property owners, approving nearly 85 percent of applications after verifying their tax records and sale deeds. Around 20,000 applications were flagged for discrepancies, though only about 4,000 owners have filed formal appeals. While many chose to pay revised dues mainly linked to undervalued car parking areas to avoid complications, others are challenging what they consider unfair assessments. A Supreme Court-appointed Central Empowered Committee has reported that nearly 6,800 illegal structures have been raised on approximately 780 acres of deemed forest land in Faridabad, in violation of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980. The committee's findings show large-scale encroachments spread across villages such as Anangpur, Ankhir, Lakkarpur, and Mewla Maharajpur, with Anangpur recording the highest number. While earlier demolitions brought down some of the constructions, many still remain. The Greater Noida development authority recently approved co-developers to finish three long-delayed group housing projects. The Lucknow Police have handed over most of the 293 FIRs filed against Ansal Properties & Infrastructure Ltd (APIL) to the crime branch for detailed investigation.
