Alpex Solar has secured INR 260.17 crore via a preferential equity and warrant issue to accelerate its expansion in the solar energy sector. The company plans to increase its solar module capacity from 1.2 GW to 3.6 GW and establish a solar cell capacity of 1.6 GW by FY27. Trial production of solar cells is scheduled soon, while a 12,000 MTPA aluminium frame facility is also set to be operational. Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has been placed 39th in the latest OAG Megahubs 2025 rankings, down from its 24th position last year. The airport now records 16,178 possible connections and serves 157 destinations worldwide. In the low-cost carrier (LCC) category, IGIA stands at 11th place globally, while Mumbai's airport has secured the 14th position. A 91-kilometre road connecting Hanle to Chumar in Ladakh has recently been opened for public use. Built by Project Himank under the Border Roads Organisation, the road passes through altitudes of 14,500 to 17,200 feet, including the high Salsa La Pass. The government has granted infrastructure status to large commercial ships, adding them to the harmonised master list of infrastructure under transport and logistics. Vessels of 10,000 gross tonnage or more, and those above 1,500 gross tonnage if built and flagged in India, now qualify. The move, announced in Budget 2025-26, allows shipping firms easier access to overseas borrowing, tax concessions, and funding support from institutions like IIFCL. Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) has secured two contracts worth INR 1,418.3 crore and INR 1,147.51 crore from Patna Metro Rail Corporation Ltd under Phase I of the Patna Metro project. The works span 10.67 km of underground twin tunnels using Tunnel Boring Machines and six metro stations on the Danapur-Khemnichak Corridor. Package PC-05 includes tunnels, a cut-and-cover ramp at Mithapur, and stations at Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, and Patna Station. Package PC-06 covers an underground ramp at Rukanpura and stations at Rukanpura, Raja Bazar, and Patna Zoo. The Kanpur Metro project has reached a key milestone with the completion of the up-line tunnel connecting Kanpur Central to Naubasta via Jhakarkati and Transport Nagar. The 'Azad' Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) finished the 950-metre tunnel, including a technically challenging 70-metre stretch beneath railway tracks. Meanwhile, the 'Vidyarthi' TBM is nearing completion of the down-line tunnel.
