The Wadhwa Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NMIAL to provide 405 ready-to-move-in flats in its township, Wadhwa Wise City, on a leave-and-license basis. Under this arrangement, the airport personnel can occupy the flats from October 2025, while ownership remains with the Wadhwa Group. A leave-and-license agreement is a legal contract that allows temporary use of a property without transferring ownership.
Sandeep Sonthalia, CEO of the Wadhwa Group, said that the opening of the Navi Mumbai International Airport is a major development for the region. He added that there has been increased interest in apartments, bungalows, and plots in Panvel and surrounding areas, and partnering with NMIAL helps meet the rising demand for housing close to the airport.
The Wadhwa Group has previously delivered numerous residential and commercial projects across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, establishing itself as a significant player in the local real estate sector. This collaboration is part of a growing trend where large infrastructure projects, like the new airport, are driving demand for nearby housing and associated facilities.
