Maharashtra Government approves land acquisition for INR 80,000 crore Shaktipeeth Expressway

The Maharashtra government has approved land acquisition for the INR 80,000 crore Maharashtra-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway, a project aimed at promoting tourism, transport, and rural development across 12 districts. The government has sanctioned a INR 12,000 crore loan from HUDCO to acquire around 7,500 hectares of land for the project, which will be executed by the MSRDC. This approval comes after a previous delay in land acquisition due to farmer protests in Kolhapur in 2023. NCRTC plans housing and commercial hubs along Delhi-Meerut rapid rail
