Synopsis

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) announced the signing of a 125-key greenfield Ginger hotel in Satara, Maharashtra, earlier this week. The company highlighted Satara's growing prominence as a hub for education, healthcare, and business, which has driven consistent demand for hospitality services. With this signing, IHCL has further strengthened its Ginger brand and will now have 43 hotels in Maharashtra, of which 16 are still under development.

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) confirmed earlier this week that it had signed an agreement for a 125-key greenfield Ginger hotel in Satara, Maharashtra. The company stated that Satara's convergence of education, healthcare, and business sectors continued to attract strong demand, making the city a suitable location for the Ginger brand's expansion.

According to Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President - Real Estate and Development at IHCL, the signing aligned with the company's strategy of extending its brand portfolio into high-potential markets. She also noted that the group was pleased to collaborate with Vedantika Raje Bhonsle on this project.

With the inclusion of this property, IHCL's portfolio in Maharashtra will expand to 43 hotels, of which 16 are currently under various stages of development. The addition underscores the group's intent to strengthen its footprint in the state, catering to both business and leisure travellers in emerging locations.

By targeting a city that is witnessing demand from multiple sectors, the company has taken another step towards reinforcing its mid-scale hospitality presence. The latest signing adds to its expanding state-wide portfolio and underlines its long-term commitment to strengthening regional growth.
