Synopsis

At its recent State Investment Promotion Board meeting, Andhra Pradesh approved 30 projects with a total investment of INR 53,922 crore, projected to generate over 83,000 jobs. Key approvals included proposals from HFCL, Apollo Tyres, Dhirubhai Ambani Green Tech Park, and Serentika Renewables. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu highlighted his intent to closely monitor implementation, promote food processing and horticulture, and strengthen MSMEs through innovation hubs.

During its tenth meeting held earlier this week, the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) of Andhra Pradesh sanctioned 30 projects amounting to INR 53,922 crore, carrying the potential to create 83,437 employment opportunities across the state.

Among the approvals, HFCL is set to invest INR 1,197 crore in Madakasira, Apollo Tyres will deploy INR 1,100 crore in Chittoor district, Dhirubhai Ambani Green Tech Park will establish operations at Krishnapatnam with an investment of INR 1,843 crore, and Serentika Renewables of India will commit INR 2,000 crore towards its Anantapur venture.

A government statement noted that the meeting, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, had cleared these proposals to boost employment and industrial growth. Naidu underlined his commitment to personally oversee the execution of projects at the ground level and directed officials to ensure effective implementation of the state's 'ease of doing business' policy.

The Chief Minister indicated that efforts were underway to attract a Mahindra electric vehicle plant to the state. He further highlighted that Andhra Pradesh possesses significant potential to expand its food processing industry, directing officials to engage with food processing companies to establish facilities across the state.

Naidu also emphasised the development of horticulture in Chittoor and Rayalaseema regions, where mango processing ventures have been proving beneficial to farmers. Stressing the importance of micro, small and medium enterprises, he urged the establishment of MSME parks in every assembly constituency. Additionally, he proposed linking MSMEs with Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs to enhance product quality and competitiveness.

With a focus on renewable energy, automotive, food processing, and horticulture, the state aims to create employment and foster industrial development. The Chief Minister's insistence on personally tracking progress indicates a hands-on approach to ensure timely execution of projects and strengthen investor confidence in Andhra Pradesh.
