The Andhra Pradesh government has cleared the formation of the Andhra Pradesh Logistics Infrastructure Corporation (AP-LInC), a new state-level agency that will coordinate and upgrade logistics infrastructure across all regions. The approval was given by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The corporation has been created to bring ports, airports, major road networks, inland waterways and cold-storage systems under a single administrative structure so that the state can reduce logistics cost, remove delays and create a more dependable supply-chain ecosystem. AP-LInC will function as a government holding company once a managing director is appointed. Its responsibilities will include attracting long-term investments into logistics, supporting infrastructure expansion and ensuring that different transport modes work in an integrated manner. The corporation will also prepare plans for strengthening warehousing, transport connectivity and industrial-linked corridors, which have become essential for manufacturing and agricultural movement in the state.
The government has also approved the creation of district-level logistics cells under AP-LInC. These units will work directly with local administrations to identify gaps in infrastructure, promote logistics-related facilities in remote areas and ensure that smaller towns gain better connectivity with major ports and airports. This structure is expected to improve last-mile movement and help reduce time and cost for businesses operating outside major urban centres.
This development aligns with the state's broader strategy to improve logistics performance. In recent months, the government has taken steps to revive industrial activity, including preparing large tracts of land for upcoming projects and strengthening its port network along the coastline. Andhra Pradesh has several operational ports and multiple new maritime facilities under development, and AP-LInC is expected to coordinate these assets more effectively.
