Schneider Electric has partnered with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Smart City and Smart Factory Technologies on the VIT Vellore campus. The centre is designed to promote research, innovation, and skill development in areas that are essential to India's digital and sustainable growth.
The initiative underscores Schneider Electric's focus on developing future-ready talent and providing students with opportunities to work with advanced technologies that are shaping modern industries. The first batch at the CoE will include 1,100 students, with plans to significantly expand this number in the coming years.
Deepak Sharma, Zone President - Greater India and MD & CEO of Schneider Electric India, mentioned that the CoE aims to create a dynamic platform where ideas can transform into practical applications. He highlighted that the centre will drive innovation, research, and entrepreneurship in fields critical to the development of smart cities and industries.
