Synopsis

CIDCO has unveiled a housing scheme offering 4,508 ready-to-move homes across Navi Mumbai's Taloja, Dronagiri, Ghansoli, Kharghar, and Kalamboli nodes. The scheme operates on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing applicants to directly choose their preferred units. Among the tenements, 1,115 are allocated for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) under PMAY with a subsidy of INR 2.5 lakh, while 3,393 are for the Low Income Group (LIG). Online registration has begun, and successful applicants can start selecting flats later this month, with immediate possession upon payment and document verification.

CIDCO, the City and Industrial Development Corporation, has announced a housing scheme that offers 4,508 ready-to-move tenements in Navi Mumbai. Unlike its previous lottery-based schemes, this initiative follows a first-come, first-served model, allowing applicants to select their preferred homes without waiting for a draw.

The tenements are spread across five nodes: Taloja, Dronagiri, Ghansoli, Kharghar, and Kalamboli. Out of the total units, 1,115 are earmarked for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), while 3,393 are designated for the Low Income Group (LIG). The EWS units come with a subsidy of INR 2.5 lakh under PMAY.

Online registration began earlier this week, with applicants required to register by December 21. Tenement selection will start from December 28, giving applicants the flexibility to choose units according to their preferences. CIDCO has clarified that full payment and document verification are prerequisites for possession, which will be handed over immediately once these steps are completed.

CIDCO highlighted that all housing complexes are strategically located, close to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and connected via suburban railway, metro, and major highways. The tenements are equipped with basic amenities, making them ready for immediate occupation.

Vijay Singhal, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, emphasized that the scheme allows citizens to select their home directly, providing a unique opportunity for common residents to own a property in one of India's fastest-growing urban hubs. He encouraged wider participation to take advantage of the scheme.

This initiative builds on CIDCO's earlier efforts in affordable housing. In 2024, it launched a large-scale PMAY scheme in Navi Mumbai targeting 67,000 homes, which mainly used a lottery system. The new FCFS approach is expected to reduce waiting times and make allocation more transparent and efficient.

CIDCO has made detailed information about tenement sizes, rates, and registration procedures available on its official website cidcofcfs.cidcoindia.com, ensuring applicants have access to all necessary information before selection.
