Voltsun Labs Pvt Ltd has signed an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to establish a greenfield solar cell and module manufacturing facility at Naidupeta in Tirupati district, with a total investment of INR 1,743 crore. To support the project, the state government is allotting 37 acres of land at a concessional cost, facilitating the setup of the manufacturing unit.
The facility will be developed as an integrated 2 GW solar manufacturing ecosystem in two stages. The first stage will include a 1 GW solar cell manufacturing unit, and the second stage will add a 1 GW module capacity. Voltsun will use advanced TOPcon monocrystalline and bifacial technologies, which are among the most efficient and modern solar production methods currently available.
The project is expected to create 415 direct jobs, while the government will provide external infrastructure support, ensuring smooth operation and connectivity. This investment is part of Andhra Pradesh's ongoing efforts to attract clean energy projects and strengthen its position in India's renewable energy sector.
The government highlighted that such initiatives are crucial for building local manufacturing capabilities in solar technology and for promoting sustainable energy production in the state. By combining modern technology with large-scale capacity, the project is set to contribute significantly to the region's economic growth and renewable energy adoption.
