Synopsis

Jakson Group has begun its INR 8,000-crore investment to build a 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. The project's first phase, for which groundwork was laid earlier this past week, includes 3 GW of cell and 4 GW of module manufacturing capacity. Over the next three years, the company plans to develop 6 GW capacities each for ingot, wafer, cell and solar modules, creating about 4,000 jobs. The first phase alone will involve INR 2,000 crore and generate around 1,700 jobs. State leadership emphasized that the initiative supports local employment and India's clean-energy goals.

Jakson Group has initiated its INR 8,000-crore investment to establish a 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. The groundwork for the first phase was laid during the past week, marking the start of one of the state's major renewable energy manufacturing projects.

The opening phase includes the creation of 3 GW of solar cell capacity and 4 GW of module manufacturing capacity. According to the company, this phase alone accounts for an investment of INR 2,000 crore and is expected to generate around 1,700 employment opportunities.

The company's broader plan spans the next three years and aims to set up 6 GW each of ingot, wafer, cell and solar module manufacturing capacity. This full-scale expansion is projected to create about 4,000 jobs. Such integrated manufacturing facilities have been gaining importance as India works to reduce dependence on imported solar components, particularly from East Asian markets.

During the foundation event, the Chief Minister conveyed that the solar manufacturing hub at Maksi would help create skilled employment for young workers in the state and enhance Madhya Pradesh's position in India's clean-energy supply chain. He noted that the project highlights the state's capabilities in talent, infrastructure and industry-focused growth.

Jakson Group's Chairman stated that the facility is intended to help build technological self-reliance in solar manufacturing and contribute to strengthening India's renewable energy ecosystem. The company has been expanding its presence in solar solutions in recent years, and this project marks one of its largest manufacturing-led commitments.
