Synopsis

MHADA has reopened its online tender for 16 amenity plots across Mumbai after the earlier round failed to draw bids. The plots, located in areas such as Malad-Malvani, Goregaon’s Unnat Nagar, Kandivli Charkop, Vikhroli, Gorai, Akurli, Kurla and Mulund (East), range from 32 sq m to over 7,000 sq m. They are earmarked for community uses including schools, hospitals, playgrounds, shopping areas and welfare centres. MHADA hopes the fresh tender, which combines unsold and new plots, will attract greater interest from developers and institutions. Bidding opens in the second week of December and remains active until mid-January through MHADA’s online portal.

The Mumbai Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has reopened its online tender for 16 amenity plots across the city, following a previous round that failed to attract bids. These plots are spread across key Mumbai neighbourhoods, including Malad-Malvani, Unnat Nagar in Goregaon, Charkop in Kandivli, Tagore Nagar and Kannamwar Nagar in Vikhroli, Gorai, Akurli, Vinoba Bhave Nagar in Kurla, and Mulund (East). Plot sizes vary from 32 sqm to 7,160 sqm, offering options for various civic and community purposes.

Six plots in Malad-Malvani are designated for public amenities such as schools, colleges, hospitals, and playgrounds. Other plots have specific uses: Unnat Nagar for a school; Charkop for a retail market and general amenity use; Vinoba Bhave Nagar for a social welfare centre; Mulund (East) for shopping; Kannamwar Nagar for a multipurpose community centre; Tagore Nagar for residential use and a primary/secondary school; and Gorai and Akurli plots simply listed as amenity plots.

MHADA’s previous tender round saw no bids, but some plots in past auctions were successfully allotted, indicating steady interest in city amenity plots. Combining unsold plots with new ones, MHADA hopes this fresh round will attract more developers and organisations interested in contributing to Mumbai’s community infrastructure.

Interested parties can submit their bids online through MHADA’s official portal, starting the second week of December, with the process open until mid-January. The online tender system aims to make the process transparent and accessible to all potential applicants.
