With this addition, the group's portfolio in Meghalaya will rise to three hotels, including one that remains under development.
IHCL's decision to introduce a greenfield Ginger hotel in Shillong demonstrates its continued strategy of strengthening its presence across high-potential Northeastern markets. The company's focus on pairing its brand identity with cities experiencing administrative and infrastructural growth suggests sustained interest in diversifying its footprint beyond established metros.
As the Smart City programme continues to reshape key urban centres, IHCL's partnership-led approach and multi-brand portfolio place it in a favourable position to capture rising hospitality demand across emerging destinations such as Meghalaya.
