Nearly 3,790 of the planned 4,000 centres are operational, and registration is facilitated via an OTP-based system on the state portal and mobile app. Payments are directly credited to Aadhaar-linked accounts. Procurement has begun in western and Lucknow divisions, while eastern divisions will start in November. The government targets 60 lakh metric tonnes, offering MSPs of INR 2,369 for common and INR 2,389 for Grade-A paddy.

Over 1.37 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh have registered for paddy procurement, marking a steady start to the 2025-26 procurement season. Registration opened in early September, and by mid-October, 1,37,166 farmers had completed the process. Since October 1, more than 35,630 metric tonnes of paddy have already been purchased across various divisions, highlighting strong participation.

The state government planned to open 4,000 procurement centres, of which 3,790 are already operational. According to the Food and Civil Supplies Department, the registration process is progressing rapidly. Farmers can register through the official portal www.fcs.up.gov.in or the UP KISAN MITRA mobile app. An OTP-based single registration system allows farmers to verify their details through SMS, and payments are credited directly to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

Procurement began in divisions including Meerut, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Agra, Aligarh, and Jhansi in western Uttar Pradesh. Additional procurement is ongoing in Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur districts under the Lucknow division. The government has set a target to procure 60 lakh metric tonnes of paddy this season. The minimum support price (MSP) is set at INR 2,369 per quintal for common paddy and INR 2,389 per quintal for Grade-A paddy. Authorities have instructed that payments to farmers be completed within 48 hours. Paddy with up to 17% moisture content is eligible for procurement.

Eastern Uttar Pradesh will begin paddy procurement from November 1, covering divisions such as Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Devipatan, Basti, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Prayagraj. Similarly, in the Lucknow division, procurement in Lucknow, Raebareli, and Unnao will start on the same date and continue until the end of February 2026. These measures aim to ensure smooth and timely procurement across the state, providing farmers with assured payments and easing the marketing of paddy.
