Mumbai-based construction company Capacit'e Infraprojects revealed earlier this week that it had been awarded a contract by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) for the construction of fast-track buildings on a design-and-build basis. The project, valued at approximately INR 542.37 crore, will involve the use of composite steel and reinforced cement concrete, materials known for enabling faster completion compared to traditional methods.
Rahul Katyal, Managing Director of Capacit'e Infraprojects, stated that the company was honoured to be chosen for this prestigious assignment. He added that the order reaffirmed the company's technical expertise, execution efficiency, and its strong record of delivering time-sensitive infrastructure projects.
The scope of the project encompasses the construction of fast-track structures, including detailed design drawings, finishing works, and the installation of water supply and sanitary systems, among other related tasks.
The new project awarded to Capacit'e Infraprojects by IIT Bombay reinforces the company's growing reputation in executing high-quality infrastructure developments under strict timelines. By integrating advanced composite materials and a comprehensive design-build approach, the initiative is expected to demonstrate both innovation and efficiency in modern construction practices, further strengthening the collaboration between academic institutions and infrastructure specialists in India.
