TotalEnergies has agreed to provide Google with 1.5 terawatt hours of renewable electricity from its nearly completed Montpelier solar farm in Ohio under a 15-year power purchase deal. TotalEnergies has finalized a 15-year agreement to supply Alphabet's Google with 1.5 terawatt hours of renewable electricity from its Montpelier solar farm in Ohio. St phane Michel, President of Gas, Renewables and Power at TotalEnergies, stated that the deal demonstrates the company's ability to meet the increasing energy needs of major technology companies by using its combined renewable and flexible energy assets.
Earlier this month at the ADIPEC conference in Abu Dhabi, CEO Patrick Pouyanne noted that expanding electricity operations allows TotalEnergies to achieve a more stable revenue flow, reducing reliance on the cyclical nature of oil and gas markets.
In the United States, TotalEnergies is building a 10-gigawatt portfolio that includes onshore solar, wind, and battery storage projects, reflecting its broader strategy to grow its presence in clean energy.
