The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation has intensified efforts to prevent illegal constructions in the city. Officials sealed three unauthorised shops in Nirankari Mohalla and a building in Narinder Nagar following directions from LMC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal. Additionally, an under-construction commercial building near Mohar Singh Nagar was demolished after it was found that the owner was converting a residential property into a commercial one without approval.
Authorities stated that all construction projects in Ludhiana require prior building-plan approval from the municipal corporation. The civic body urged residents to follow this rule strictly to avoid penalties, demolition, or sealing of properties. Officials noted that the action is part of a larger strategy to curb unauthorised construction and maintain the city?s regulated development. Previous enforcement drives have also targeted similar violations, indicating consistent monitoring and regulatory oversight in the area.
By taking such actions, the LMC aims to ensure that development in Ludhiana follows approved norms and maintains urban planning standards. The municipality continues to warn property owners that non-compliance could result in immediate action against illegal constructions, reinforcing the importance of adhering to civic regulations.
