CREDAI-MCHI Thane inaugurated the Redevelopment Expo 2025 earlier this week at the Raymond Trade Show Hall, Thane, marking a significant milestone in the city's real estate evolution. The event drew over two thousand participants, including housing society representatives, developers, and real estate professionals, all keen to explore redevelopment opportunities across Thane.
Sachin Mirani, President of CREDAI-MCHI Thane, stated that the time had come for a transformation in the city's skyline. He mentioned that the expo would assist housing societies in understanding and navigating the redevelopment process more effectively. Jitendra Mehta, Immediate Past President, CREDAI-MCHI Thane, remarked that redevelopment in Thane was timely, pointing out that within a few years, the value and longevity of existing homes could nearly double through proper redevelopment.
Ajay Ashar, Past President, CREDAI-MCHI Thane, observed that nearly half of Thane's housing stock is more than three decades old, making redevelopment a crucial opportunity for homeowners. Referring to housing society members as landowners, he emphasised that societies must select trustworthy development partners, adding that CREDAI-MCHI Thane played a vital role in building this trust.
Mahesh Borkar, Chairman of the Redevelopment Committee, CREDAI-MCHI Thane, noted that the event was expected to bring a major shift in how redevelopment takes shape in Thane. He explained that the city's skyline would evolve more systematically as a result of this initiative.
The event also featured the inauguration of Thane Vision 2030 by MLC Niranjan Vasant Davkhare, which was presented by Sachin Mirani as a roadmap for the city's key infrastructure projects and their impact on residents' quality of life. Davkhare congratulated CREDAI-MCHI Thane and emphasised that redevelopment must preserve social cohesion while ensuring that the quality of sale and redevelopment component homes remained on par.
Naresh Mhaske, Member of Parliament for Thane, lauded the expo as the first major event that offered housing society office bearers a direct platform to engage on redevelopment matters. He attributed the success of policy updates facilitating redevelopment to the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Addressing society representatives, he remarked that redevelopment delays and rent stoppages often resulted from unrealistic expectations, stressing that practical decision-making was equally essential on the part of residents.
Shrikrishna Panchal, IAS and District Collector of Thane, also praised CREDAI-MCHI Thane for organising the event. He highlighted that redevelopment allows residents to upgrade their homes without relocating from familiar neighbourhoods, ensuring both continuity and improved living standards.
Faiyaz Virani, Hon. Secretary, CREDAI-MCHI Thane, concluded by stating that the expo would provide a strong impetus to Thane's redevelopment drive and expressed optimism about the city's bright future.
By fostering collaboration among developers, residents, and policymakers, CREDAI-MCHI Thane's initiative has set the tone for the city's next phase of real estate transformation.
