The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority has removed 22 stalled real-estate projects from its abeyance list, paving the way for construction to restart across several districts. The cleared projects, spread over seven districts, collectively comprise 8,856 units, including flats, plots, and commercial spaces.
The authority had previously categorised close to 400 developments under the abeyance list when promoters failed to upload mandatory documentation despite repeated reminders. After a detailed review and issuance of notices to the concerned promoters, the authority decided to reinstate 22 of these projects following compliance verification.
According to the UP-RERA chairman, the decision is expected to provide much-needed relief to homebuyers while boosting transparency and accountability within the sector. He noted that the step would also enhance regulatory oversight by ensuring developers maintain accurate and updated records.
