The Uttar Pradesh Housing Board (UPHB) has listed about 4,200 residential units in Lucknow on a centralised online portal, providing details such as addresses, area, cost, and photographs mapped via Google Maps. The initiative, part of a state-wide directive covering 29 housing authorities, aims to enhance transparency and convenience by reducing the need for in-person visits. Buyers can register online and participate in lottery draws for units in government-backed projects such as Avadh Vihar, Himalayan Enclave, and Kailash Enclave. With 21 of 30 agencies having uploaded listings so far across cities like Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Ghaziabad, the move marks a step toward streamlined, accessible housing allocation in Uttar Pradesh.
The UPHB has made around 4,200 residential units publicly available for prospective buyers in Lucknow, publishing full details such as addresses, area and cost on a centralised web portal managed by the department. The housing department had earlier instructed 29 housing development authorities, including the UPHB, to compile a consolidated list of all vacant residential units and display them on both device-specific and departmental portals. Members of the public interested in acquiring a flat within state-backed apartment blocks or colony projects by government housing agencies will be able to register directly with the authorities and participate in a lottery draw to secure a unit. A resident from Shaktinagar in Indiranagar reported having searched for over a year for a suitable three-bedroom flat in a developing locality, and stated that opting for a government-backed housing scheme seemed to him a safer bet; he cited neighbourhoods such as Avadh Vihar, Himalayan Enclave and Kailash Enclave as his areas of interest.
Of the 30 housing agencies under the state's purview, 21 have uploaded their property lists to the portal so far. Listings span multiple cities including Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Mathura, Moradabad and Jhansi, among others. This campaign is expected to improve transparency and reduce administrative burdens as buyers gain access to ready-information about government-owned residential stock.
