The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has opened a police post near Gate 2 of the Anand Vihar Namo Bharat station and handed it over to Delhi Police under the Patparganj Industrial Area jurisdiction. This facility aims to help commuters register complaints and seek quick assistance. Similar posts at Sahibabad and Ghaziabad are already functional, while those at New Ashok Nagar, Guldhar and Duhai are nearing completion. Alongside, NCRTC has implemented CCTV coverage, security checks, and multi-zone detectors across the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor's operational 55-km stretch.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has set up a police post at the Anand Vihar Namo Bharat station in Delhi to improve on-ground security and passenger support. The facility, located near Gate 2, has been officially handed over to the Delhi Police and will function under the jurisdiction of the Patparganj Industrial Area police station.
The post will help passengers file complaints or request assistance in emergencies or in the event of unlawful incidents on Namo Bharat trains or within the station premises. Given the large footfall at Anand Vihar especially among women and daily commuters the move is aimed at strengthening public safety and ensuring quicker response times during any untoward situation.
This step is part of NCRTC's broader safety framework for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. Police posts at Sahibabad and Ghaziabad Namo Bharat stations have already become operational. The Sahibabad post comes under the Link Road police station in Trans-Hindon Zone, while the Ghaziabad post functions under the Nagar (Ghaziabad) Zone.
Additional posts are being developed at New Ashok Nagar, Guldhar, and Duhai stations and are expected to be completed shortly. Once operational, these facilities will offer a more integrated safety grid across the entire corridor.
Besides deploying police personnel, NCRTC has implemented a multi-layered security system across stations and trains. Each station has a dedicated police room, and multi-zone door-frame metal detectors are installed at entry gates. The entire corridor is monitored round the clock through a central Security Control Centre (SCC) equipped with CCTV cameras covering trains, platforms, and station premises.
At present, the operational 55-km stretch of the 82-km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor runs between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South, covering 11 stations. Work on the remaining section is progressing steadily and is expected to be commissioned soon, expanding connectivity and reinforcing the safety framework further.
