The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and relevant state aviation authorities are expected to finalise and publish the detailed schedule changes in due course. Local stakeholders including travellers and businesses tied to air-connectivity have already voiced concern about worsening access and the possible economic fallout.
Although the suspension is officially framed as temporary for the winter schedule, the underlying structural issues of low utilisation and constrained aircraft deployment highlight longer-term concerns about maintaining commercial services at smaller airports.
