Rajendra Lodha, formerly a director at Lodha Developers, was arrested from his Worli residence on September 17 by the property cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch after his alleged role in a fraud emerged during an ongoing investigation. He was brought to court and remanded in police custody until September 23.

Lodha had resigned from all positions at Lodha Developers on August 17, 2025, following a conduct review by the company's ethics committee. The company followed up with a formal intimation on August 18, 2025, and later referred the matter to the appropriate authorities for investigation.

In a regulatory filing made earlier in the day, Lodha Developers maintained a strict zero-tolerance policy on misconduct and noted that the case had been referred for official inquiry. The filing also identified Rajendra Lodha as a fourth-degree distant relative of the company's Managing Director and CEO, Abhishek Lodha.

Lodha Developers said it had conducted a comprehensive review of processes related to his role with the help of an independent external firm, and that recommendations from that review were being implemented with immediate effect.

The police investigation into the alleged fraud is ongoing and further probes are underway to determine the full facts of the case.

Lodha Developers is a Mumbai-based real estate company with a portfolio of residential and commercial projects in the city and elsewhere. The company has reiterated its commitment to compliance and said the matter has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
