The Rajasthan Housing Board has recorded a surge in applications for its newly launched residential schemes in smaller towns and semi-urban locations. Projects in Nainwa, Badi Road in Dholpur and Panerio ki Madri in Udaipur have witnessed demand exceeding available units, with Udaipur's scheme drawing eighteen applicants for each flat. Offering homes from about INR 7.8 lakh, these schemes are attracting interest from economically weaker and lower-income groups.
The Rajasthan Housing Board has received an overwhelming response to its recent launch of residential and commercial housing schemes across smaller towns and semi-urban pockets of the state. Applications opened earlier this month, and several locations have already seen interest far surpassing the number of homes available.
In Udaipur, the Panerio ki Madri project, which includes 142 flats reserved for the economically weaker sections and lower income groups, drew nearly eighteen times more applications than units offered. Similarly, schemes in Nainwa in Bundi district and on Badi Road in Dholpur also attracted applications well above the available inventory.
At Nainwa, the Board is developing 72 independent houses for various income categories, with prices beginning at around INR 7,80,000. The Badi Road project in Dholpur comprises 64 flats targeted at EWS and LIG segments, starting from about INR 12,45,000. In Udaipur, the base price stands at roughly INR 11,68,000. The Board has also rolled out additional housing options in Atru in Baran district and along Langera Road in Barmer. Officials have described the strong interest from semi-urban areas such as Nainwa as highly encouraging.
Lower income and economically weaker groups are seeking ownership opportunities where homes are more accessible and within reach. The Housing Board's schemes are addressing this gap, and if supply continues to meet the rising demand, these initiatives could stimulate balanced regional development while easing pressure on the state's urban centres.
