Noida Authority carried out a demolition drive in Salarpur Khadar village, targeting illegal multi-storey buildings constructed on 24 plots. Around 39 developers had put up nearly 60 buildings, many of which were marketed as 1BHK to 3BHK apartments priced between INR 30 lakh and INR 65 lakh. While court stay orders stopped demolition on some plots, the authority demolished site offices and tin sheds on three other plots. Officials have said they will apply land mafia laws, take action against illegal groundwater extraction, and continue monitoring the site with daily inspections under senior supervision.
Noida Authority recently undertook a major demolition operation in Salarpur Khadar village, where nearly 60 buildings were identified as illegal. The buildings had been developed by 39 builders across 24 plots without required approvals. Many of these structures, standing six to seven floors high, were being sold as 1BHK to 3BHK flats with prices ranging between INR 30 lakh and INR 65 lakh.
A team of 50 authority officials, supported by six earthmovers, tractor-trolleys and police personnel, was sent to the site to begin demolitions. During the drive, structures on some plots could not be removed as farmers presented court stay orders. However, the authority went ahead with demolitions on three other plots, where tin sheds and site offices were cleared.
Specific plot numbers, including 728-735 and 745-752, were highlighted as part of the illegal development. Notices had already been issued to developers in July, but officials stated that construction continued even after the notices were removed. The authority has now confirmed that it is preparing to apply land mafia laws with the support of the district administration.
In addition, officials have written to the district magistrate regarding illegal groundwater use at the site, requesting immediate measures to stop further extraction. Along with legal measures, the authority has also set up teams to monitor construction activity in Salarpur Khadar and nearby areas. These teams consist of managers, assistant managers, junior engineers, field staff and police officials, who will conduct inspections every day. Their reports will be sent to the senior manager of Work Circle 8 to ensure strict oversight.
This step adds to a series of actions taken by Noida Authority in recent years to curb unauthorised housing projects, especially in village clusters where private developers have been building without permissions.
