IHCL has launched Gulab Haveli, Mandawa - IHCL SeleQtions, a 17-room heritage property in Rajasthan that retains its 19th-century architectural essence. The restoration incorporates frescoes, low doorways, arches, and a central courtyard. The hotel offers a dining venue inspired by the Silk Route (Resham), a relaxed bar (Amal), a rooftop pool, and a Hammam Spa. IHCL frames the new property as an effort to preserve India's cultural heritage while providing modern hospitality, aligning with Mandawa's legacy of art and historic architecture.
IHCL has introduced its newest heritage retreat in Rajasthan, opening Gulab Haveli, Mandawa - IHCL SeleQtions, with 17 rooms and suites. The property is carefully restored to preserve architectural features from the 19th century.
Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President of New Businesses & Hotel Openings at IHCL, said that this hotel is a tribute to Rajasthan's enduring heritage and creative spirit. She noted that the restoration reinforces IHCL's resolve to protect India's cultural treasures while offering contemporary guest experiences.
The design emphasizes traditional elements: frescoed walls, low doorways, detailed arches, and an open-sky central courtyard serve as the core of the haveli.
For dining and leisure, guests have Resham, an all-day restaurant inspired by the Silk Route, and Amal, a serene bar. A rooftop terrace pool overlooks the surroundings, and a Hammam Spa based on ancient wellness practices provides a tranquil retreat.
Raj Verma, the General Manager of Gulab Haveli, said that the property blends tradition with modern comfort, and they are pleased to welcome visitors to a place where every detail tells a story.
Mandawa, located in Rajasthan's Shekhawati region, is often called an open-air art gallery. It is known for forts, painted facades, ornate archways and decorated havelis making it a fitting location for this heritage retreat.
IHCL's portfolio already includes brands such as Taj, Claridges Collection, Vivanta, Gateway, Ginger, and Tree of Life (for private escapes). The company's first hotel, The Taj Mahal Palace in Bombay (now Mumbai), was launched in 1903 by Jamsetji Tata. Over the years, IHCL expanded into a leading hospitality firm with hundreds of properties and more under development.
Gulab Haveli is positioned within the SeleQtions brand, which focuses on curated hotel experiences with unique character. On its official listing, the property is described as set in an 1870s haveli, featuring restored limestone frescoes, a gold-painted room, and a careful balance between heritage aesthetics and modern amenities.
