The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has launched a sealing drive in Sushant Lok 2 and 3 to address unauthorized commercial activities and structural violations. Over 60 properties had been issued restoration orders, but many owners did not comply within the 10-day deadline. The drive targets homes operating businesses such as salons, guest houses, and coaching centres, as well as properties with stilt and setback violations. DTCP officials emphasized zero tolerance for repeated offenders, aiming to maintain planned development, reduce congestion, and restore residential land use discipline in licensed colonies.
The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has initiated a major sealing drive in Sushant Lok 2 and 3 to address unauthorized commercial activities and illegal construction. More than 60 houses had received restoration orders, but property owners failed to comply within the stipulated 10-day period. As a result, the DTCP has begun enforcing sealing measures in phases.
Notices were previously served to 24 houses operating businesses like salons, guest houses, and coaching centres, while 36 houses were flagged for structural violations, including unauthorized stilt and setback modifications. These changes have contributed to traffic congestion, limited parking, obstructed emergency access, and compromised fire safety clearances.
The action follows spot inspections conducted earlier in the year, which revealed widespread misuse of residential plots. While a few homeowners voluntarily removed illegal modifications, many continued operating commercial establishments. DTCP officials clarified that sealing and cancellation of occupation certificates would apply to those violating residential land use norms.
The enforcement is being carried out under the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act and relevant building bylaws. DTCP officials reiterated their commitment to a zero-tolerance approach toward repeated offenders, emphasizing that the drive is corrective as well as regulatory, aiming to ensure fair land use and civic discipline.
Residents of Sushant Lok 2 and 3 have long complained about noise, congestion, and misuse of residential properties for commercial purposes. The drive also addresses the strain on infrastructure designed for residential use. DTCP's enforcement wing plans to continue surveillance in licensed colonies across Gurugram and conduct similar drives in other areas where violations have been reported, ensuring adherence to zoning and land use norms.
