Synopsis

UST has made a strategic investment in Kaynes Semicon, aiming to jointly develop a state-of-the-art Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat. This collaboration supports India's "Make in India" initiative and seeks to enhance the country's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. The project, valued at approximately INR 3,330 crore, combines UST's global reach and digital engineering expertise with Kaynes' local manufacturing strengths, positioning India as a competitive player in the global semiconductor market.

UST, a global leader in AI and technology transformation, has announced a strategic investment in Kaynes Semicon, a prominent Indian semiconductor manufacturer. This partnership aims to establish a world-class Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, with an estimated investment of INR 3,330 crore. The initiative aligns with India's "Make in India" program, focusing on enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities and reducing reliance on imported semiconductor components.

The collaboration leverages UST's expertise in digital engineering, AI-driven process optimization, and real-time data analytics to support Kaynes Semicon's manufacturing operations. By combining UST's global presence and technological capabilities with Kaynes' local manufacturing strengths, the partnership aims to improve the scale and reliability of semiconductor assembly and testing processes.

The OSAT facility in Gujarat is expected to play a crucial role in advancing India's semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. It will contribute to the country's efforts to become a significant player in the global semiconductor industry by promoting quality, reliability, and local value addition.

In addition to this venture, Kaynes Semicon has been actively expanding its capabilities. Earlier this year, the company acquired power module production facilities from Fujitsu General Electronics Ltd., a move that enhances its capacity to meet the growing demand for power semiconductor components. This acquisition underscores Kaynes Semicon's commitment to strengthening its position in the semiconductor market.

Furthermore, Kaynes Circuits India, a subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India Ltd., signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu in August 2025. The MoU outlines a proposed investment of approximately INR 4,995 crore over six years to establish new manufacturing facilities, including greenfield projects and capacity expansions within Tamil Nadu. This initiative reflects Kaynes' broader strategy to expand its manufacturing footprint across India.
