Techno Digital, the digital infrastructure arm of Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd (TEECL), today announced the inauguration of its state-of-the-art 36MW AI-ready hyperscale data centre in Chennai. The new facility is located at SIPCOT IT Park in Siruseri and represents a significant step in the company's broader digital infrastructure strategy.

Built with a committed investment of USD 175 million (approximately INR 1,535 crore), the data centre is part of Techno Digital's ambitious USD 1 billion national investment plan. This plan aims to establish a cumulative capacity of 250 MW in hyperscale and edge data centres across the country.

The new facility, which spans over 200,000 square feet, is designed to host approximately 2,400 high-density racks and support flexible power densities ranging from 10 kW to 50 kW per rack and beyond. Situated in the heart of Chennai's IT corridor, the data centre's strategic location provides enhanced resilience against climate risks and offers seamless connectivity to multiple cable landing stations that anchor India's internet backbone.

Further reinforcing its commitment to reliability, the facility includes an on-site 110 kV GIS substation with dual power feeds from independent substations, connected via underground cable paths for weatherproof operation. The data centre utilizes an advanced architecture featuring centrifugal water-cooled chillers and adiabatic cooling towers to enhance efficiency and sustainability. Techno Digital has plans for additional hyperscale data centre sites in Kolkata and Noida as it continues to expand its footprint across India.
