Kerala Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan laid the foundation stone for the Adani Group's new logistics park in Kalamassery, Kochi, a project with an initial investment of over INR 600 crore. The park, which will span 70 acres and cover 13 lakh square feet, is a significant outcome of the Invest Kerala Global Summit and a pivotal step in the state's drive to become an industrial hub. It is also a key component of Adani's broader multimodal logistics network in the region, which includes the Vizhinjam Port. The project is expected to create over 1,500 jobs and modernize the state's supply chain infrastructure.
Kerala Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday laid the foundation stone for the Adani Group's new logistics park in Kalamassery, marking a significant milestone in the state's industrial and economic development. The project, which is being developed on 70 acres with an initial investment of more than INR 600 crore, is designed to bolster Kerala's industrial infrastructure by offering integrated logistics facilities and modern systems.
The groundbreaking ceremony is a key deliverable from the Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025, a major government initiative to attract investments and transform the state's business environment. The Adani project is among the first to move from proposal to implementation, with officials touting it as a clear sign of the state's commitment to creating an investor-friendly ecosystem. The government is actively working to shed its old image and is now actively courting large-scale investments to drive economic growth and job creation.
The new park is also a strategic move by the Adani Group, which is building a comprehensive multimodal logistics ecosystem in Kerala. This new facility in Kochi will complement the group's existing presence in the state, which includes the operational Vizhinjam International Seaport and the management of Trivandrum International Airport. By connecting these key assets, the group aims to create a seamless and efficient logistics chain that will strengthen its position in Southern India.
Once completed, the logistics park will cover over 13 lakh square feet and is expected to create more than 1,500 jobs. The facility will incorporate advanced digital and sustainable solutions, including EV charging stations, to cater to a variety of sectors such as e-commerce, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and the automotive industry. It is designed to reduce transportation costs and support local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by integrating them into the supply chain.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Vijayan described the project as a new step in Kerala's industrial history. Industries Minister P. Rajeev, who presided over the ceremony, echoed this sentiment, highlighting that the project will create new business opportunities and serve as a catalyst for regional economic growth.
