The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has recently reviewed issues affecting various infrastructure projects. This meeting, held on Monday in New Delhi, concerned projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan. It aimed to address challenges hindering their progress through a meeting chaired by its Secretary, involving key stakeholders.
A total of 22 issues related to 18 projects were discussed during the meeting. These projects have a combined value of over INR 36,296 crore. The meeting was chaired by DPIIT Secretary Amardeep Bhatia and attended by senior officials from central ministries, state governments, and project proponents.
Among the initiatives reviewed was the Transmission System Strengthening Scheme. This scheme focuses on evacuating power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan and Gujarat, involving an investment of INR 14,147 crore. Its purpose is to facilitate the integration of renewable energy into the national grid by developing high-capacity transmission infrastructure, including substations and transmission lines.
The meeting also reviewed the 5G/4G network expansion project of Reliance Jio, which is recognized as a project of national importance.Such regular reviews by government departments are done to identify bottlenecks and ensure the timely completion of large-scale infrastructure projects. These projects are crucial for economic growth, energy security, and digital connectivity across the country.
