The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has reported growth in its financial activities, including loan sanctions and disbursements, for the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The state-owned agency started the financial year with strong provisional results, impacting India's renewable energy sector.


Loan sanctions grew by 29% to INR 11,740 crore, compared to INR 9,136 crore a year ago. Loan disbursements rose 31% to INR 6,981 crore, up from INR 5,326 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. The company's outstanding loan book was INR 79,960 crore as of June 30, 2025, reflecting a 27% increase over INR 63,207 crore in the year-ago period.

Pradip Kumar Das, CMD of IREDA, stated that their first quarter growth highlights IREDA's role in powering India's renewable energy ecosystem. He added that the numbers reflect both increasing demand and the agency's readiness to respond with effective financing solutions. As a state-owned agency, IREDA provides financial support for various renewable energy projects across India. Its performance indicates the health and growth of the country's clean energy sector.
