Maha Mumbai Metro faced a brief technical issue during the trial run of Metro Line 9 near Dahisar (East) earlier this week, which temporarily halted operations. To ensure passenger convenience, services were promptly restored with loop and short loop operations introduced. While minor delays occurred, trains continued running across key stretches. The technical team addressed the glitch swiftly, and services are now fully operational with a renewed emphasis on safety and reliability.
Maha Mumbai Metro has confirmed that all its services are currently functioning without disruption after a short-lived technical problem earlier this week. The issue arose during a trial run on Metro Line 9, when a train encountered a snag near the point section at Dahisar (East) as it turned towards Metro Line 7. The incident led to a temporary halt, but for commuter convenience, operations across stations were quickly resumed with alternative measures put in place.
To maintain service continuity, loop operations were initiated between Aarey and Ovaripada, with trains running in both directions on a single track. Although this arrangement resulted in slight delays between services, connectivity was preserved. A short loop service was also operated between Gundavli and Aarey in both directions. Meanwhile, Metro Line 2A, covering all stations between Andheri West and Dahisar West, continued to operate at full capacity without disruption.
Officials stated that the technical security team reached the affected spot immediately and rectified the glitch within a short timeframe. They emphasised that passenger safety remained the highest priority and assured that services are now back on track. The operator reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted and reliable urban travel across the network.
The minor technical snag during Metro Line 9's trial run was quickly addressed by Maha Mumbai Metro's technical team, ensuring minimal inconvenience to passengers. With loop and short loop services sustaining connectivity during the disruption, commuters experienced only limited delays. Regular operations across all lines have now been fully restored, underscoring the metro authority's focus on safety, service reliability and passenger comfort in Mumbai's expanding transit system.
