Flight operations at Delhi airport were significantly affected earlier this week due to low visibility, causing multiple cancellations and delays. According to a Delhi International Airport Ltd official, 49 departures and 77 arrivals were cancelled as a result of poor visibility conditions.

IndiGo, the airline most impacted by the disruptions, confirmed that it cancelled 110 flights across its network on the same day. The airline explained that winter fog in northern India often reduces visibility during early mornings, occasionally slowing down flight operations.

IndiGo added that its teams were closely monitoring the weather situation and taking necessary measures on the ground to reduce passenger inconvenience. The airline stated that wherever possible, adjustments were being made to ensure that waiting times were managed as comfortably as possible for travelers.

These cancellations come amid the onset of the winter season, which typically brings dense fog across northern India, affecting air traffic for short periods. Airport authorities and airlines continue to coordinate closely to manage schedules and ensure passenger safety during such weather conditions.
