Sundaram Home Finance has outlined plans to expand its reach across smaller towns in central Tamil Nadu by increasing its branch network and growing its emerging business segment. The company aims to double its presence in tier-3 and tier-4 towns and target INR 120 crore in disbursements over the next year. Its emerging business portfolio includes small-ticket loans of up to INR 20 lakh and affordable housing finance up to INR 40 lakh. The firm has already opened branches in key towns over the past year and continues to widen its footprint.
Sundaram Home Finance is working to strengthen its presence in central Tamil Nadu by focusing on tier-3 and tier-4 locations. The company currently operates 12 branches in the region and intends to increase this number to 25 as part of its next phase of expansion. The company's emerging business segment includes small-ticket loans capped at INR 20 lakh and affordable housing finance up to INR 40 lakh. This segment has seen steady demand in smaller towns, prompting the company to expand its operations further.
Managing Director D. Lakshminarayanan said the expansion aligns with the goal of consolidating the firm's presence in the state. He noted that the company has already set up branches in towns such as Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur and Kumbakonam over the past year, and it now plans to extend its network into even smaller locations across central Tamil Nadu.
The company is targeting INR 120 crore in disbursements under this emerging segment over the next 12 months. As part of this plan, Sundaram Home Finance opened a new branch in Pattukottai near Thanjavur late last week, continuing the momentum built in recent months.
Lakshminarayanan also stated that growing entrepreneurial activity in smaller towns is creating more opportunities for lenders offering small-ticket and affordable housing loans. This has encouraged the company to enhance its coverage across underserved areas.
Sundaram Home Finance, headquartered in Chennai, offers home loans, plot loans, home improvement loans, extension loans and loans against property. It currently operates more than 150 branches across India.
