IHCL is expanding its presence in Jaipur with a new 161-key Gateway Mahapura hotel, catering to the city's growing business travel demand driven by infrastructural growth. This will bring IHCL's total hotels in Jaipur to 16, including five under development. Meanwhile, Airtel Payments Bank has secured rights from IHMCL to implement a multi-lane free flow tolling system at Daulatpura Toll Plaza. The barrier-less ETC system, using RFID and ANPR technology, is expected to reduce congestion, save travel time, improve fuel efficiency, and provide a smoother commute, supporting Jaipur's development as a commercial and transport hub.
Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has announced the signing of a 161-key greenfield Gateway hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan. IHCL's Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development, Suma Venkatesh, noted that Jaipur's growing infrastructure and emergence as a commercial hub have increased demand for business travel. She mentioned that the new Gateway Mahapura hotel will address this rising demand, and expressed satisfaction in partnering with Shri Modi Group for the project. Advertisement
With this addition, IHCL's presence in Jaipur will expand to 16 hotels, including five currently under development.
In a related development, Airtel Payments Bank has obtained rights from Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) to implement a multi-lane free flow (MLFF) tolling system at the Daulatpura Toll Plaza in Jaipur. This barrier-less Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system is designed to reduce congestion, shorten travel times, improve fuel efficiency, and offer commuters a smoother experience.
The MLFF system uses high-performance RFID readers and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to read FASTag and Vehicle Registration Numbers (VRN), allowing vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping. This modern system aligns with India's push towards more efficient and technologically advanced transport infrastructure.
