Synopsis

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Concord Control Systems Limited, Advanced Rail Controls Private Limited, has received an INR 19.17 crore contract from Indian Railways to supply, install and commission a wireless control system for locomotives. The order will be completed in seven months and does not involve any related-party transactions. Concord has been expanding its presence in railway technology, supported by earlier orders for its Kavach 4.0 safety system and a higher stake in Progota India to strengthen research and development. The company has also reported stronger financial performance in FY25.

Advanced Rail Controls Private Limited, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Concord Control Systems Limited, has been awarded an INR 19.17 crore contract from Indian Railways to deliver a wireless control system for locomotives. The work includes supply, installation and commissioning, and will be completed over a seven-month period. The company stated that the order does not involve any related-party interest from promoters or the promoter group.

This order adds to a series of recent developments for Concord in the railway technology segment. In the past few months, its associate company Progota India Private Limited received an INR 19.45 crore order for the Kavach 4.0 safety system. That project covers the design, development, supply, installation, trials and commissioning of onboard and trackside components across a railway zone. A large part of the certification under Safety Integrity Level 4 for Kavach 4.0 had already progressed, indicating that the system is moving closer to deployment.

Concord also decided to increase its equity stake in Progota India from 26 per cent to 46.5 per cent. The move is aimed at combining Concord's manufacturing and system-integration strengths with Progota's research and development abilities, which together support both safety-related and control-system projects. These steps reflect the company's continued efforts to build a wider presence in the Indian Railways ecosystem.

Market reactions have remained positive during recent order announcements. Concord recorded a 76.8 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to INR 22.65 crore in FY25, supported by a 90 per cent increase in net sales to INR 124.46 crore over FY24. The company has been supplying coach-related and electrification products to Indian Railways for several years and is approved as a vendor by the Research Designs & Standards Organisation. Established in 2011, it became a public limited company in 2022 and was listed on the SME platform of BSE the same year.
