Acme Solar expands Surendranagar wind capacity as project reaches 44 MW

Synopsis

Acme Solar Holdings has added 16 MW to its ongoing 100 MW wind power project in Surendranagar, Gujarat, taking the project's operational capacity to 44 MW. This addition comes after the first 28 MW was commissioned in the past month. The project recently received an extension to its Scheduled Commercial Operation Date from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission, with the revised deadline set for March 5, 2026. The project is financed by Power Finance Corporation, and its output will be supplied under a 25-year PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. Officials from GEDA and PGVCL have confirmed the latest commissioning.

Acme Solar Holdings has expanded the operational capacity of its 100 MW wind power project in Surendranagar, Gujarat by commissioning an additional 16 MW. This capacity enhancement follows the commissioning of 28 MW completed in the past month as part of the project's first phase. With the latest addition, the project now has 44 MW operational out of the planned 100 MW that is being executed in multiple phases.


The company's overall operational renewable energy capacity has now reached 2,934 MW. Acme Solar has been steadily adding solar and wind assets over the past few years as part of its broader renewable portfolio, which also includes storage, hybrid systems, and firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects.

The Surendranagar wind project recently received an extension to its Scheduled Commercial Operation Date from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission. The revised deadline has been set for March 5, 2026, and the company has achieved early commissioning for the first 44 MW. The project is financed through Power Finance Corporation.

Electricity generated from the project will be supplied under a long-term, 25-year Power Purchase Agreement between Acme Eco Clean and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. The latest commissioning has been witnessed and verified by officials from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd.

Acme Solar currently has 4,456 MW under construction, including 13.5 GWh of battery energy storage systems, reflecting ongoing expansion in renewable infrastructure.
