Nemetschek Group has signed an MoU with IIT-Madras to conduct advanced research in low-carbon and lean construction technologies, supported by an investment of USD 100,000 from its AI and Data Innovation Hub. The German software company provides solutions for the entire lifecycle of construction and infrastructure projects and reported revenues of EUR 995.6 million in 2024. The partnership aims to reduce carbon emissions, enhance efficiency, and promote sustainable construction practices while leveraging IIT-Madras' expertise in digital innovation for India's construction sector.

Germany-based Nemetschek Group, a leading software provider for the architecture, engineering, construction, and operation (AEC/O) sector, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras) to advance research in low-carbon and lean construction technologies.


The collaboration focuses on 'Technologies for Low-Carbon and Lean Construction (TLC2)' and is backed by an investment of USD 100,000 from Nemetschek Group's AI and Data Innovation Hub. The initiative aims to explore solutions that can reduce the carbon footprint in construction while improving efficiency throughout the project life-cycle.

Nemetschek's software solutions span the entire construction and infrastructure lifecycle, enabling digital transformation across global projects. The company, which has been listed on the MDAX and TecDAX indices since 1999, reported revenues of EUR 995.6 million and an EBITDA of EUR 301.0 million in 2024, reflecting its steady growth and strong presence in the digital construction space.

This partnership builds on IIT-Madras' ongoing research initiatives in sustainable construction and digital technologies, creating opportunities for innovation and practical applications in India's growing construction sector. The collaboration is expected to strengthen technology exchange between Germany and India, promoting environmentally conscious construction practices.
