J Infratech has received a new highway reconstruction contract valued at INR 116 crore from the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd for work in Assam. The company confirmed that it has already obtained the letter of acceptance from the authority for the project.
The assignment covers the reconstruction of selected portions of the Jhanji-Demow stretch of NH-37 (old), spanning 20.44 km between the 514.36 km and 534.80 km points. This corridor forms an important connection between several economic and industrial pockets of Upper Assam and has seen frequent upgrades over the years to support rising traffic.
The upcoming reconstruction is expected to strengthen road quality, improve safety conditions, and support smoother transport of goods and passengers across districts. Regional connectivity along the highway has previously played a key role in facilitating trade from Upper Assam towards central and lower Assam, making this stretch significant for long-term mobility and logistics.
Abhishek Singla, General Manager-Business Development at J Infratech, said the company intended to complete the work within the four-month timeline while following required engineering and safety standards. J Infratech, based in Gurugram, has been active in highway design, development, and maintenance projects across multiple states.
