Texmaco Rail & Engineering has received a contract worth INR 15.06 crore from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to install, test, and commission ballastless track systems and buffer stops across 5.8 track-km on three metro locations. The work is planned to begin on December 1 and is expected to finish within a year. The company noted that the order supports its focus on Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Texmaco is also carrying out a larger 58-track-km metro project, where a significant portion of work has already been delivered.
Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd has secured a contract valued at INR 15.06 crore from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for installing, testing, and commissioning ballastless track systems, along with the supply of buffer stops. The order covers a total of 5.8 track-kilometres across three key metro locations: Saket-G on Line 11, the Sarita Vihar Depot on Line 10, and the Noida Electronic City station on Line 3. The work is scheduled to begin on December 1 and will be carried out over the next 12 months as per DMRC standards.
Ballastless track systems, which rely on a concrete or asphalt base instead of stone ballast, are increasingly used in metro corridors due to their lower maintenance needs and suitability for dense, high-frequency operations. The system is designed to offer better long-term stability, especially for urban transit networks that require consistent performance.
Texmaco's Managing Director, Sudipta Mukherjee, stated that the order reflects confidence in the company's technical capabilities and supports national goals such as Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He also indicated that the company remains focused on strengthening its contribution to modern rail infrastructure.
The firm already has a substantial presence in DMRC projects. It is currently executing a 58-track-km package between Majlis Park and R.K. Ashram, where 22 track-km have been completed so far. This includes multiple scissor crossings, crossovers, and turnouts, which are essential components in complex metro rail alignments.
Texmaco's recent annual report noted that it laid 27 km of ballastless track in the previous financial year, highlighting its active involvement in high-precision metro rail systems. The company also received another DMRC order valued at INR 12.77 crore for similar ballastless track work, further expanding its metro-rail portfolio.
