NBCC Ltd recently announced that it had secured a significant contract from the Damodar Valley Corporation to develop an integrated township in Jharkhand. The state-owned enterprise confirmed through a regulatory filing that the order, valued at INR 498.30 crore, relates to township construction at the Chandrapura Thermal Power Station. This development comes as NBCC recently reported strong quarterly financial results, with consolidated net profit rising by 25 per cent and total income showing notable year-on-year growth. The company continues to strengthen its presence across engineering, procurement and construction, project management consultancy and real estate operations.

The announcement followed NBCC's latest financial update, in which the organisation posted a 25 per cent rise in consolidated net profit, taking it to INR 156.68 crore for the September quarter. During the same quarter last year, its profit had stood at INR 125.13 crore.
NBCC also reported an improvement in total income, which increased to INR 3,017.15 crore in the July-September period of the current financial year, compared with INR 2,512.95 crore in the corresponding period previously. The company continues to operate across engineering, procurement and construction, project management consultancy and real estate, with its latest order adding further depth to its ongoing portfolio.
NBCC's latest township development mandate marks another expansion of its project portfolio and reinforces its position within the government-backed infrastructure and construction ecosystem. The strengthened financial results reported earlier this week further underline the company's operational momentum, with higher income and improved quarterly profitability contributing to a positive outlook. As NBCC proceeds with the Chandrapura township project in collaboration with Damodar Valley Corporation, it continues to enhance its role in large-scale EPC, PMC and real estate assignments across the country.
