The ruling by RERC allows additional revenue of 3.5% over 15 years, covering customs duty, GST increases, and carrying costs. The compensation will be paid via an annuity mechanism at a 9% discount rate, ensuring project economics remain stable. ACME Solar Holdings has announced that its subsidiary, ACME Aklera Power Technology, has received INR 47.40 crore as compensation for regulatory changes in a 250-MW solar project in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) ruled in favor of the project, which is contracted with SECI, allowing the company to earn an additional 3.5% revenue over the next 15 years.

The awarded sum covers costs arising from the imposition of basic customs duty on solar cells and modules, an increase in GST from 5% to 12%, and carrying costs. The total amount will be disbursed through an annuity mechanism at a 9% discount rate over 15 years, helping the company recover unforeseen regulatory cost increases while maintaining project viability.

ACME Solar noted that this ruling sets an important precedent for regulatory clarity and stability in project development costs across the renewable energy sector. The company highlighted that timely decisions by RERC and the structured payment mechanism have strengthened confidence among investors and developers, demonstrating a supportive environment for renewable energy expansion in India.

ACME Solar Holdings Limited is a leading integrated renewable energy company with a diversified portfolio across solar, wind, storage, floating distributed renewable energy (FDRE), and hybrid solutions. The company currently has an operational capacity of 2,918 MW and projects under construction totaling 4,472 MW, including 13.5 GWh of battery energy storage installations.
