Synopsis

Anant Raj Ltd has confirmed plans to invest nearly INR 4,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh as part of a large-scale expansion of its data centre operations. The company announced earlier this week that its subsidiary, Anant Raj Cloud Pvt Ltd, had signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board to establish a data centre and IT park in a phased manner. The agreement includes provisions for state-level facilitation, job creation, and coordinated central government support. This expansion will add to Anant Raj's ongoing data centre projects and future capacity ambitions.

Anant Raj Ltd recently announced that it would invest around INR 4,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh to develop new data centre facilities under its expansion strategy. The announcement was made through a regulatory filing in which the company confirmed that its subsidiary, Anant Raj Cloud Pvt Ltd (ARCPL), had signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board to develop a data centre and an IT park in the state.

The MoU outlines a time-bound plan for establishing the proposed data centre-IT park, with ARCPL committing to a phased investment of approximately INR 4,500 crore. The company added that this investment is expected to generate nearly 8,500 direct jobs and around 7,500 indirect employment opportunities once the project is fully operational.

The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board will offer facilitation support for the project, including coordination with central government departments wherever required. Its involvement, however, will remain limited to promoting and enabling investment inflows into the state.

The agreement was signed late last week in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh's Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications. This planned investment is in addition to Anant Raj's ongoing development of 307 MW of data centre capacity across its various locations.

At present, Anant Raj operates 28 MW of IT load within its Manesar and Panchkula campuses and has set a target of reaching 307 MW by 2031-32 across Manesar, Panchkula and Rai in Haryana. Earlier this year, the company entered into a partnership with Orange Business, the French IT and telecom services provider, to strengthen the delivery of managed cloud services in India.

The company also noted that it is on track to reach an installed IT load capacity of 117 MW by FY28. Founded in 1969, Anant Raj has delivered nearly 9.96 million sq ft of residential and commercial developments and holds about 320 acres of debt-free land in the Delhi-NCR region. For the first half of FY26, it reported revenue of INR 1,223.20 crore and profit after tax of INR 264.08 crore.
