Synopsis

Adani Group has announced plans to invest more than INR 1 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh over the next decade, expanding across ports, cement, energy, data centres and advanced manufacturing. This is in addition to the INR 40,000 crore already invested in the state. At the Andhra Pradesh Investor Summit, Karan Adani detailed the Group's USD 15 billion Vizag Tech Park vision with Google, which will create a green-powered hyperscale data-centre ecosystem and the tech giant's largest AI hub outside the United States. He praised the state's leadership and highlighted Andhra Pradesh's role as a gateway for India's future growth. The Group's existing operations have already generated over one lakh jobs.

Adani Group recently announced it would invest over INR 1 lakh crore across multiple sectors in Andhra Pradesh over the next decade as part of its strategy to expand its presence in southern India. During the Andhra Pradesh Investor Summit, Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports & SEZ, said the plans covered ports, cement, data centres, energy and advanced manufacturing, and would be over and above the INR 40,000 crore already invested in the state.

Weeks after finalising a partnership with Google for a large AI-focused data centre project, the Group also presented its Vizag Tech Park vision valued at USD 15 billion, which aims to create one of the world's largest green-powered hyperscale data-centre ecosystems in collaboration with Google. He mentioned that the Group's belief in Andhra Pradesh had been longstanding and remarked that it had already invested INR 40,000 crore across ports, logistics, cement, infrastructure and renewable energy, with plans to significantly expand that footprint over the coming decade.

He noted that the Group viewed Andhra Pradesh not merely as an investment destination but as a launchpad for India's transformation in the next decade. At the Vizag Tech Park, Adani and Google are set to develop one of the largest hyperscale data-centre ecosystems, entirely powered by green energy. Both companies will invest USD 15 billion over the next five years to develop the Vizag data centre hub, which will be Google's largest AI hub investment outside the United States and include a gigawatt-scale purpose-built campus.

Karan Adani stated that this combined USD 15 billion vision aligns with the goals of sustainable and high-tech development. The project will be undertaken by AdaniConneX, a joint venture between Adani Group and EdgeConneX, and will be supported by a subsea cable network and renewable power infrastructure. The Group will also set up new transmission lines, renewable power generation facilities and energy storage systems within the state.

The upcoming facility is intended to meet the country's rapidly rising AI demand and will also involve collaboration with Bharti Airtel. Karan Adani, the eldest son of Gautam Adani, referred to Andhra Pradesh as India's eastern gateway to global markets. He added that geography alone could not shape history, but vision could, and acknowledged Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as someone who redefined industrial development in modern India.

He recalled that Naidu had identified opportunity where others saw uncertainty three decades ago and had transformed Hyderabad into a centre of innovation. He stated that the Chief Minister's current push for the Swarna Andhra 2047 vision reflected governance that was entrepreneurial and forward-looking. He further described Naidu as the original CEO of Andhra Pradesh and said the state was again ready for strong growth under his leadership.

Karan Adani also praised Nara Lokesh, a minister in the state government, for representing a new generation of leadership that was agile, data-oriented and empathetic. He mentioned that Lokesh's approach to the 'Speed of Doing Business' had been reflected in investors' experiences and admired his ability to communicate across diverse domains including youth, technology and business. He added that Adani Group's operations in the state had already generated over one lakh direct and indirect jobs and committed to match the state leadership's pace and ambition in future ventures.

He concluded that as India advances towards Viksit Bharat 2047 and Andhra Pradesh moves towards its Swarna Andhra 2047 vision, the Group believed the path to a developed India would run through Andhra Pradesh.
